Motivation Monday

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve written a Motivation Monday post, but with some exciting opportunities on the horizon for our family, it just feels right for this week.

Right now I don’t have a tradition schedule to force me out of bed in the morning, so it’s important to me that I find ways to combat potential laziness. For the past two weeks it’s really helped me get my day started right when I sign up to attend a Pure Barre class in the morning.

Sometimes it’s at 6 a.m., sometimes it’s at 8:30 (or okay, some days even 9:30), but regardless of the time, it’s helps me to set a schedule. If class is at 6, I know I need to get my butt to bed early the night before, and if I’m not going until 9:30, I make sure to get up a little early (as in the 7 o’clock hour) to get some things done beforehand. I’ve read a lot of research regarding the benefits of early morning workouts, and I know for me it just helps to start my days off right.

I’m also a big planner, so every Sunday I make time to sit down and plan out my week. I set some goals, list some to dos to be accomplished and make sure I have an overall good balance planned for the upcoming week.

I found this list on Pinterest & thought I would share. You know I love me a good list.

Have a great first Monday November!

Motivation Monday

Today I start a new chapter in my career, so naturally I’m feeling ultra motivated. I’ve looked back on the lessons and skills that I’ve learned so far, as well as the habits I’ve created and the mistakes I’ve made, and plan to use all of those things to make me a better me going forward.
It’s always wonderful to get a fresh start, whether it’s a big one, like a job change, or one you mentally create yourself, and I plan to use mine to the fullest. I hope you find some motivation on this Monday to do the same!

Motivation Monday

I haven’t written a Motivation Monday post since the beginning of May, so it’s definitely overdue. When I think about the timing, it’s a not so funny coincidence, but even so, it’s a reminder that when things don’t turn out the way one envisions, life must still go on. When one door closes, another one opens, and so on and so on.
So I’m going into the last Monday of June, not thinking about life’s current problems, but instead, focusing on the unique, creative solutions that I can choose for my life. Turning problems into opportunities is one of the most empowering, refreshing things that a person can do for themselves.
I hope you’ll do the same, with whatever issue you may be facing at the current moment!
Happy Monday!

Motivation Monday

Last week was a crazy one for me. Lots of ups & downs, highs & lows, excitement followed by some disappointment. Through the craziness I really thought a lot about God’s grace, and how important that is to try to emulate in our every day lives.
It seems like the only thing we can really control in this world is our attitudes, and when facing unseen obstacles we can’t give up. We must continue and with a smile on our face. When we get knocked down, we must get up & try again.
So with that attitude, I start off this brand new, gorgeous May week. I hope you will join me.

Motivation Monday

I must admit, it was hard to drag myself back into the office after the gorgeous weather that we’ve had over the past couple of days, but here I am.
This weekend I made a deal with myself. I decided to use a trick that I learned from the very first therapist I ever visited (which was back in college): Anytime my mind wonders to worry or negative thoughts, I visualize a STOP sign in my mind. It’s so easy to use precious energy going over & over a situation in your mind, or envisioning a conversation that you hope to have, but it is such a waste of the current moment (not to mention our energy).
This infographic is the perfect reminder to start off the week.

Have a good one!

Motivation Monday

Who doesn’t love a good mantra?  Especially one from the lips of, none other than, Coco Chanel. This one is true for everyone, not just the girls.
You can be whoever you want to be. If you’re not there now, start working towards that person. Take baby steps & celebrate victories. It’s never too late to change.
Is there something that you’ve always wanted to do, but have never taken the plunge? If you did take a chance and it worked out, would you be proud of who you are? And if it didn’t work out, what’s the worst that could happen?
I’ve always loved writing. A couple of years ago I decided to start a blog, and although it took me awhile to get my idea off the ground (+ two blog names & multiple platforms later), here I am. I have big hopes & dreams for my little virtual space. Some day those seem so far away, but then I will hear from a friend or acquaintance, telling me that they love reading my posts & that makes it all worthwhile to me.
So on this April Monday, I hope you think about who & what you want to be – then go be it!
