Spring 2012 – Come & Gone (Last Bucket List Update)

Well, well, well. Here I am on June 18th, basking the middle of almost official summer (it’s here next Wednesday!) & I still have five items left uncrossed on my Spring Bucket List.

Such is life, right? I always make my to do lists a tad too long – it’s hard not to! Here are the rest of my checked off to do’s + the ones I didn’t quite get to.

– Make Glitter Easter Eggs
– Grill Out Often
Not often enough for my taste, but considering we are rarely home for dinner, grilling out as much as we did will have to do.
You must have some sort of drink in hand while you grill.
One of our first grilled meals of the season – eaten al fresco (or al fresca, like Cory says).

– Ride Bikes

We took our bikes out for the first time this week & had a nice, long, sweaty ride around Sedgwick County Park!

– Celebrate my Birthday
– Have a Picnic

No picnics for this girl, yet. We do plan on going to the vineyard in Clearwater, buying up a bottle of wine (after we taste our fair share, of course) & camping out for a picnic lunch. Now to get that plan on the calendar…

– Travel to California
– Walk Dogs Often
– Complete Warrior Dash
– Shop at the Farmer’s Market

There’s always summer…

– Play Tennis

It’s been too many years to count since I’ve played. Now that I’ve taken on this 1/2 marathon – who knows when we’ll get time to play tennis! Maybe this will be a fall to do.

– Travel to Vegas

One of my favorite Vegas trips ever, even if I had to work! Here’s Alex & I after dinner at SW in the Wynn.

– Go to the Drive-In

We must go this summer. It’s been one of my favorite Wichita activities since I was a child & now that my husband has a big truck we have NO EXCUSE!

– Put Our House on the Market
– Read Often (Outside)

I’m going to blame this one on the weather. We had such a short spring that most of my reading did not get done outside. Even so, here are the books I read this spring:

Ideal Wife
Heart of the Matter
Fifty Shades of Grey
How to Love an American Man

The last is for June’s book club & my first purchase from Watermark Books – awesome little space.

– Attend WSU Baseball Game
– Spring Clean
– Make Up Jar Project

Will this one ever get done? Who knows. : )

Now it’s time to move on & as much as I love to do lists, I think I will just take the summer to enjoy whatever it is I choose to do & of course, soak up the sun.

Enjoy the last day of spring tomorrow!

Spring Bucket List Update 2: Carpe Diem

As we are halfway through with this fine season, I thought I would update you all on how my SBL is going. I’ve made some major progress, but still need to get some stuff crossed off my list.
– Make Glitter Easter Eggs
– Grill Out Often
– Ride Bikes
– Celebrate my Birthday
Here with our good friends, Chelsey & Ryan
Me w/my gorgeous & wise friend, Lindsay
– Have a Picnic
– Travel to California

– Walk Dogs Often
They are loving their 3x a week habit!
– Complete Warrior Dash
Tough, but worth it & so much fun! I’m ready to do another one!
Pre-Dash

Post-Dash
– Shop at the Farmer’s Market
– Play Tennis
– Travel to Vegas (One Month from Today!!)
– Go to the Drive-In
– Put Our House on the Market

Yes!!! After months of work to get it ready, it felt great to put that For Sale sign up!

– Read Often (Outside)
– Attend WSU Baseball Game

I’m sort of cheating on this one. My company sponsored a WSU baseball game last month, so technically we attended the game, but most of it was watched from behind the bar of our suite (playing bartendar for the day). So we still need to try & make another one. Anyone want to accompany us??

– Spring Clean

Another cheat. This one is only about a 25% cheat though. We super spring cleaned the majority of our house. It’s organized, spotless & I’m loving it. It truly frees up your mind space to live in a clean & ORGANIZED (most important, in my opinion) home. So…the cheat comes because we lost steam & haven’t totally organized the master bath, kitchen or garage. Those three rooms are still on our To Do List.

– Make Up Jar Project

I’ve got some pretty fun things still ahead of me this spring & I hope you do too! Be inspired – take an item or two off of my list or create your own, whether it be on paper, a blog or just in your head.

Palm Sunday – Spring Bucket List Update

In a recent post I mentioned my Spring Bucket List. This past Sunday, Palm Sunday, I crossed an item off of my list! My family got together for Sunday lunch at my Mom’s & we made Glitter Easter Eggs!

– Make Glitter Easter Eggs
– Grill Out Often
– Ride Bikes
– Celebrate my Birthday
– Have a Picnic
– Travel to California
– Walk Dogs Often
– Complete Warrior Dash
– Shop at the Farmer’s Market
– Play Tennis
– Travel to Vegas
– Go to the Drive-In
– Put Our House on the Market
– Read Often (Outside)
– Attend WSU Baseball Game
– Spring Clean
– Make Up Jar Project
I stumbled across the idea on Pinterest & decided to try & simplify it because, who I am kidding, I’m no Martha Stewart.
The eggs.
The glue. Which I DO NOT reccomend for this project, unless you want to have sticky fingers the rest of the day.
The glitter!
The method.
The results. They may not be flawless, but they are pretty! We made some non-glitter eggs too.
The winner. My mom is more crafty than my sister & I put together. This was her egg, of course. Dyed w/KoolAid & Glittered. : )
I will also say that we have been grilling out & walking the dogs often (two of my FAVORITE things to begin doing again every spring) but I’ll wait to cross those items off of the list until closer to the end of the season.
Happy April Everyone!
