Ringing in 2014

Hello, Beautiful.
New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite nights – mentally preparing to close the books on one year and start the next with 365 blank pages.
We spent the last hours of 2013 and the first of 2014 with friends, both new and old, at one of our favorite bars in Old Town.
Enjoying some drinks…
Lots of laughs…
And of course a sweet kiss at midnight.
Happy 2014 Everyone!

Cory and I ended our summer travel with a trip to Washington over Labor Day weekend. This was the first time I had been to the northwest and I really fell in love with it. I mean, it was JUST like Twilight…what’s not to love?
We spent three days crabbing with our family in Sequim, a truly picturesque ocean town. In between crabbing we found some time for other things, like reading, wine tasting and…okay, I’ll be honest. 90% of our time was spent sitting around and eating crab.

It was an AWESOME vacation that encompassed everything I think a good vacation should: relaxation, new experiences and plenty of quality time with people I love.
We then spent Labor Day in Seattle, which was cool, but way more 90’s grunge than I expected.

If we’re friends on Facebook, watch for my WA Album – coming this weekend!

4th of July Must Haves

What comes to mind when you think of the 4th of July?
For me, it’s a BBQ + fireworks + a cute look + being surrounded by people I love. We will be spending this fourth of July with all four things included. My parents are visiting Fort Collins for the first time and we plan to BBQ at our apartment before taking them down to City Park to watch the fireworks show. So…what to wear?
I’ve seen so much festive inspiration lately, but here are my favorite looks:
Chanel (Hey, I never said I was being realistic…)
Super casual & easy.
LOVE the blue & white + red lips. And LOVE her.
Whatever you plan on celebrating in, I hope you have a fabulous Independence Day!

Memorial Day Weekend

Ahhh…the weekend that unofficially kicks off the summer season. Do you have traditions for this weekend?
One of our past traditions for this holiday was road tripping to Bull Schoals lake w/some friends of ours. Since we’ve moved, we have the opportunity to create some new traditions, so we’ve spent this long weekend BBQing, pooling & trying some new (to us) restaurants in town.
This morning’s brunch at Snooze was something to write home about.
The Godfather Bloody Mary
Pancakes, from L to R: Pineapple Upside-down, Chocolate Chip & Velvet Elvis (yes, a red velvet pancake)
Two Styles of Eggs Benedict + Hashbrowns
And afterwards, to let our food settle, we took a little stroll through Old Town.
Some other plans we have for this summer are:
Summer softball league-ing
Spending plenty of time by the pool
Drinking our fair share of Summer Shandy
Lounging on any & every patio we come across
Training for our second 1/2 marathon
Celebrating Bonnie & Brandon at their wedding
I would love to know what your plans are for the weekend & the summer!

Easter Weekend 2013

Here is a recap of our weekend in photos:

KU Game

Sadly, the Jayhawks lost to Michigan on Friday night, so this:

Happy Hour drinks on the patio at Austin’s with Rachel.

Turned into this:
Shots, long islands & more w/Cory, Rachel & a couple of her friends.
I tried to reign myself back in on Saturday by having this for lunch:
A Hawaiian steak salad from the Bent Fork.
Easter Party + Shocker Game

Our friends, Erin & Stephan had us over for an Easter Drinks & Dessert Party on Saturday, which was super cute. Check it out!

While we were there we watched the Shocker game. The Shockers had not been to the Elite 8 since 1981 and we were ecstatic as we watched them make it to the Final Four (that they had not been to since 1964)! So we went out to celebrate with some sake & sushi.

After one awesome church service today, we took the pups on a little hike up at Horsetooth.
I hope you had a wonderful day!

St. Paddy’s Day

Always one of my favorite holidays due to the festiveness. Not many words are needed, so here is my Saturday (we celebrated a day early) in photos:
Taking my coffee w/Irish Cream.

Watching my Jayhwaks win.

Going to Erin & Stefan’s house for a little shindig.
Relishing Erin’s yummy appetizer spread.
Enjoying this flavored olive oil from a local shop in Fort Collins.
Drinking green beer.
Spending time w/my man.
Moscow Muling (my first!) + Gaming.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Lovers!

I was lucky enough to wake up to my husband surprising me with flowers & french toast this morning, plus a cute wine holder he got for our future bar. Over lunch we’re going to meet to take the dogs for a walk, which will be a white one, since it started snowing this morning.Tonight I’m trying a new Pinterest pasta dish & then we’re going to see Safe Haven.
I’m a happy lady.
Bonus – I received flowers  at work from my dad, something that will NEVER get old.
So here are my favorite looks for Valentine’s Day.
I’ve been obsessed with skirts lately, specifically of the tulle variety. I love the softness of this whole look.
Rachel Zoe looks stunning in pink, a surprising detour from her normal black.
Cute & wearable date night attire.
I’m dying for these booties. Gorg.
And who doesn’t love some red lips for the occasion?
Enjoy this day of L-O-V-E!
